Amy Kemp, CPA, CISA, CRISC, CISSP
Ms. Amy Kemp has over 25 years’ Accounting, Controllership, Audit, Information Systems Security and Compliance, and Operations Management experience, working in or with public, private and non-profit organizations. She began her career as an Accounting Manager and Controller in various industrial environments, where she developed accounting and general management skills, as well as the ability to oversee complex projects to successful completion.
In 2002, Amy moved into corporate accounting management with responsibility for corporate accounting departments charged with processing, reporting, closing and consolidating financial results for public companies.
With the advent of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Ms. Kemp assumed responsibility for general control assessment, design and testing.
In 2007, Amy moved into public company Information Systems Audit and Compliance, where she spent almost a decade coordinating IT SOX audits, compliance, governance, risk assessments, and management of corporate security and privacy policies and procedures.
Over the past few years, Amy has worked in public accounting, overseeing cybersecurity, banking and IT general control audits. During that time she also developed a strong interest in blockchain technology, its use cases, smart contracts, token investments, tax and regulatory concerns.
Amy has developed a unique perspective on technology as a result of her diverse accounting, audit, governance and security experiences. Appreciative of the impact new technologies will have on the accounting profession, and trust in general, she was inspired to form Kemp CPA PLLC as a means by which to assist those struggling to make the best use of current technologies while faced with security, governance and trust challenges. She welcomes the opportunity to share her passion and commitment as a service to the broader community.
Amy is actively engaged in the Asheville community and its volunteer organizations. She love trees, values the natural world, enjoys biking, sewing, crafting, and spending time with family and friends. She is an avid yogi with a deep appreciation for the mind-body-spirit connection.
